Today's the Day! Living & Active Challenge Day 1

Peak313.com

I am so excited to be kicking off the Living and Active 5-week challenge today!  Clare at Peak 313 has combined physical fitness with spiritual fitness to help us women get our butts in gear!

I hope you'll join me for the next 5 weeks - it's going to be motivating, encouraging, and rewarding.

To get all of the information about the challenge, and to sign up to receive Clare's emails, click on her button at the top of this post to go to her blog.  And, if you want to be a part of the Facebook group I set up, email me a link to your personal Facebook page and I'll send you a friend request and add you to the group!  We'll be able to encourage one another and hold each other accountable.

The minimum suggested amount of exercise is 4 times each week for 30 minutes each time.  Totally do-able. My schedule this week is to exercise for 45 minutes on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Saturday.  I wrote it in my day planner so it's a "must-do".

I'm shooting for 1500-1800 calories per day.  I will eat 5 small meals each day, high in protein.  I'm cutting out my sweet tea for these 5 weeks (Oh...how I'll miss my sweet tea...).  Here are some ideas for my meals/light snacks this week:

- 2 scrambled egg whites with cheddar cheese + glass of skim milk
- Athenos hummus (red cayenne pepper flavor) + pita chips
- celery + fat free ranch
- peanut butter + sliced banana + honey on whole wheat bread
- grilled chicken breast + BBQ sauce + brown rice + salad
- grilled tilapia + steamed broccoli

I'm teaming up with some great friends to make the next 5 weeks a success!  Join me - email me with a link to your Facebook page and let's get our butts in gear together!

  1. Yay! This is going to be great. I did 35 minutes this morning.
I am horrible at eating healthy and keeping track. I am going to write it down though :)

  2. Love it!! I laughed when I saw your comment on sweet tea, I just mentioned to someone else that I was going to have a hard time with that. My goal is do replace a glass of sweet tea each day with a glass of kefir water.
